Rest
Date & Time: Saturday, 31st October 2026 at Westside Shala from 2 - 4:30pm.
Investment: $55
We have a tendency to pin our exhaustion onto our chests like a badge of honour, hovering just above complete burnout as our nervous system spins out of control begging for a reset. This is your chance. A time to settle into a deep understanding that rest is your birthright, it is not something that needs to be earned or ashamed of. It is this knowing that allows us to soften back into our innate ability to heal and to connect to our intuition, our inherent creativity and our endless imagination.
Yoga Nidra is the pathway home. A practice of returning. Of allowing ourselves to fall back into the open arms of deep rest. This day's retreat is an introduction into some of these rest practices. We will spend time in conversation around the history, tradition and techniques of these practices and then drift towards them, wandering down the pathway of Slow Flow, Yin and Restorative Yoga until we land softly into our Nidra nest. You will walk away feeling rested, rejuvenated, and more deeply connected to that clear voice inside of you that calls out for you to slow down, be quiet and listen.
Stillness & Sound with David Gorvett and Adam Whiting
Date & Time: Sunday, 1st November 2026 at Westside Shala from 2:30 - 4pm.
Investment: $45
Join Adam Whiting and David Gorvett for an immersive yin yoga practice. Over 90 minutes, David will guide you through a gentle, restorative yin practice, holding long ground-based postures designed to release deep-held tension and quiet the mind.
Accompanying the practice, Adam will create a continuous, soothing soundscape of live ambient acoustic guitar, weaving soft fingerstyle melodies and spatial textures to help guide your awareness inwards and settle your nervous system.

With twenty years of experience teaching across the United States, Asia, and Australia, Adam Whiting's approach to the many practices of yoga is rooted in the understanding that movement is a pathway toward self-understanding and a sense of belonging. His teaching seeks to bridge the gap between technical precision and embodied experience, merging anatomical fluency with integrated musicality.
Through a solid scaffolding of precise sequencing and elegant cueing, Adam’s classes, workshops, and trainings are designed to move students beyond the rational and relentless mind and into a state of steady presence. His practice and his teaching balance the strength of intelligent vinyasa with the settling and grounding practices of yin, meditation, and yoga nidra.
